KENYAN AGRICULTURE

 

SunCulture was based out of Kenya, which with an area of 580,367 square kilometers (224,081 square miles), was the second largest country in Africa , in terms of area. It was also the largest economy in eastern Africa and the seventh largest in the continent in terms of population. Kenya’s GDP was 74.93 billion (in terms of current US$) in 2017. As per the World Bank data, in 2017, the total population was 49.69 million, of which 73% lived in rural areas and 36.1% of the population lived below the poverty line as on 2017. Only 56% of the total Kenyan population had access to electricity which was unreliable and expensive. Solar power was seen as one of the cheapest and most affordable sources of off-grid power and many companies exploited this opportunity by providing solar power for lighting and for charging mobile phones to millions of those who were off-grid in Kenya...
